Rosso di Montepulciano Fattoria del Cerro Is the base wine of the famous Fattoria del Cerro winery in Montepulciano in Tuscany. The main grape of the Montepulciano area is Sangiovese which locally is called Prugnolo Gentile, the Rosso di Montepulciano Fattoria del Cerro is produced either by Prugnolo Gentile but with 10% of Syrah. The grapes are manually harvested and brought to the winery for crushing, fermentation with maceration in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days at a controlled temperature (24-26 ° C) with daily pumping which ensure correct transfer of the coloring material and polyphenolics from Skins to the wine. Subsequently, the Rosso di Montepulciano Fattoria del Cerro wine is separated from the skins and placed in big oak barrels of Slavonian oak where it remains for 3 months until blending and bottling.
