Veneto is a region full of agricultural traditions and flavours. Among the most important traditional Veneto products are the wines produced in the Valpolicella region, such as the Amarone from the area of Verona, Prosecco di Valdobbiadene DOCG from the area of Treviso. There are also important cheeses like the Asiago produced in the Asiago tableland near Vicenza, or the Piave cheese from the Alps near Belluno. These cheeses are also the main ingredients for traditional Veneto dishes. Regarding cured meat it is impossible not to mention the Prosciutto Veneto Berico Euganeo Dop produced in the towns of Padova, Vicenza and Verona. On the east side of the Garda Lake incredible extra vergin olive oil is also produced. Veneto is the Italian region with the highest percentage of flat land and the Po riverflows across this land, and then into the Adriatic. Veneto is bordered by the Alps on the north.
