Poggio Mandorlo Montecucco Querce is the mid-range wine of Poggio Mandorlo winery, it derives from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes grown at about 400m sldm in the hilly area of the Maremma at the foot of the Amiata mountain at the beginning of the Orcia Valley. The grapes are harvested separately and vinified in thermoconditioned steel tanks, during fermentation pump-over and delastrage are daily repeated. Subsequently, the Poggio Mandorlo Montecucco Querce wine is separated from the skins and aged in small French oak barrels for a year before blending and bottling.
