Leonforte peach IGP is a typical fruit of the homonymous country located near Etna volcano. Leonforte peach has the peculiarity of being a late peach (late ripening), in fact this is left on the plant until September before being harvested. To prevent the peach being damaged or ruined this is wrapped in paper until harvesting. This treatment also avoids the use of pesticides. The peach is yellow with red streaks, the taste is sweet. Leonforte peach is mainly used to produce jams and peaches in syrup.

How it's made | Peaches from Leonforte are harvested in the period from September to early November, only the best peaches will compose the peaches in syrup. These are selected, washed and cut, then placed in a jar of glass and covered with glucose syrup. Once closed, peaches are pasteurized for a short time so that they do not bake them too much and then leave them crunchy when tasted. |
