Montebruna Barbera d'Asti is a wine produced from 100% Barbera grapes by Braida, famous winery in Asti. Montebruna Barbera d'Asti is a particular Barbera wine as it was the dream of the founder Giacomo Bologna. The Barbera grapes are harvested in October and taken to the cellar for pressing, fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for about 12 days while numerous pump-over and delastage are made to extract colour substances and structure from the skins. Subsequently, the Barbera d'Asti Montebruna wine is separated from the skins and placed in aging for 6 months in wooden barrels from 20 and 55 HL where the malolactic fermentation occurs. After a year wine is blended and bottled.
