Monte Alto Franciacorta Nature

Monte Alto Franciacorta Extra Brut is the Franciacorta wine of Monte Alto winery in Clusane, near Iseo Lake in Franciacorta. This cuvee comes from vineyards that are located on the north-east side of Monte Alto overlooking the lake, where calcareous soils and special microclimate make the area particularly suited to the cultivation of Pinot Noir. Monte Alto Franciacorta Extra Brut  is designed to combine the depth and structure of the Pinot Noir with the finesse and elegance of Chardonnay expressing the territory of origin. The grapes are manually harvested around the beginning of September and taken to the cellar for a gentle pressing, the musts are divided into first and second pressings and fermented partly in steel and partly in third and fourth step wood barrels. After fermentation the Franciacorta wines remain in aging on the lees until the spring following the vintage before being blended and bottled after adding sugar and yeast that will allow second fermentation inside the bottle and the appearance of bubbles. After 19 months of aging in the bottle Monte Alto Franciacorta Extra Brut is disgorged and released on the market.
