Merlot-Lagrein Meran

Merlot-Lagrein Meran is a wine produced with Merlot and Lagrein grapes grown in the well-known lands of the municipalities of Merano and Algund at an altitude of about 300-400 m. The altitude and the perfect exposure guarantee these vineyards the ideal conditions for the production of high quality grapes that reach an excellent state of phenolic ripeness. The Merlot and Lagrein grapes are harvested around the beginning of October and brought to the winery to be destemmed and undergoing the alcoholic fermentation which takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 ° C for about 10 days. During fermentation numerous pump over and delastages are performed to absorb the compounds of the skins. After fermentation, the Merlot-Lagrein Meran wine is separated from the skins and aged in French oak barrels of second and third passage for 12 months before blending and bottling.
