Kerner Meran is a wine produced with Kerner grapes grown in the vineyards of the municipalities of Lagundo, Lana and Marlengo at an altitude of about 400-600 m. The altitude and the perfect exposure guarantee these vineyards the ideal conditions for the production of grapes of the highest quality. The Kerner grapes are harvested around the beginning of the month of September and taken to the winery for a skin contact process that lasts for about 12 hours. After this phase the must absorbed most of the aromatic compounds present in large quantities in the skins of the Kerner grapes that began to be pressed. Fermentation takes place in steel and is performed at low temperature to make the yeasts enhance the aromatic potential and the Kerner grapes. Kerner Meran is then filtered and bottled after 5 months of aging after the harvest.
