Vie di Romans is one of the Friuli Venezia Giulia most well-known wineries in the world. It is named after the ancient Roman street where the company is located. Gianfranco Gallo has been running the company since 1978 bringing new and innovative ideas both in the winegrowing and winemaking field. His core focus is on the quality, respect and enhancement of the territory. Since 1978 Vie di Romans has been studying its own vineyards acknowledging their potential and winegrowing suitability. The winery has also been vinifying the selected crus separately, adopting a "French" philosophy. Nowadays the company owns 50 hectares of vines in the area of Mariano del Friuli producing about 250.000 bottles a year.
Peter Zemmer represents the third generation of winemakers of the company, named aptly after him. Founded in 1928, it is located in Cortina on the Strada del Vino (literally "Wine road") in the southern part of the Trentino Alto Adige region. This area has always been extremely suitable for winemaking. Peter Zeller winery owns 52 hectares of vines where local and international grape varieties are both grown. The company also vinifies grapes of 90 winemakers which are part of a producer association. The aim of the company is to give its wines their own personality, by understanding the territory and by joining together tradition and winemaking technology.
