The best selection of producers, vineyards and winery of Chianti Classico DOCG.
The Chianti Classico DOCG is one of the most famous Italian wines in the world, made in the area between the provinces of Florence and Siena for a total surface of 70,000 hectares. Itis allowed to produce this wine only on these 7000 hectares planted with vines, and the peculiarity of this territory is that the vines are very close to the olive trees, another great product of this land. It is important to distinguish the Chianti to the Chianti Classico: the Chianti is the wine made outside the classic area, while the Chianti Classico is the wine made within this very small area, which includes the towns of Greve in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and also a part of the Florence's area with the towns of Barberino Val d'Elsa, San Casciano in Val di Pesa and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and a part of the Siena's area with the towns of Castelnuovo Berrdenga and Poggibonsi. Beside the territory, also the production standards and the vines used are different; the main grape variety is certainly the Sangiovese, which can be blended with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo and Colorino, depending from the company's choice. There are wine-producers who made the history of the Chianti, such as Ruffino, Antinori, Frescobaldi and Barone Ricasoli. Please find below our best prices and deals for Chianti Classico wines.

Domini di Castellare di Castellina is a project created by Paolo Panerai and the Baron Domanin from Roshchild-Lafite who started to work together to produce extraordinary wines. The oldest winery in the group is Castellare di Castellina, a beautiful estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, which is made up of 80 hectares and has been producing incredible wines for 30 years. Rocca di Frassinello in the Maremma is a 500-hectare estate, designed by the worldwide known architect Renzo Piano. 90 of those hectares are planted with vines and the aim is to combine Castellare's experience on wine-growing and wine-making of Sangiovese and the French knowledge about the international grape varieties. Last estate to join the Domini di Castellare di Castellina is Feudi del Pisciotto in Sicily. It is a 33-hectare estate planted since 2002 at an elevation of 250 asl and 6 km far from the sea. Planted grapes are Nero d'Avola and other international varieties, both red and white ones.
