Pieve Santa Restituta is the estate of the Gaja family in the territory of Montalcino. Pieve Santa Restituta was purchased in 1994; the estate is made up of 16 hectares of calcareous land that the farmers abandoned since it is a poor and not very fertile soil, so not suitable for herbaceous crops, but for this reason the area is perfectly suitable to grow vine plants and more precisely to grow Sangiovese grapes. In Pieve San Restituita two Brunello di Montalcino are produced, which come from selected crus called Sugarille and Rennina. In 2005 the restoration working of the winery was completed, delivering a modern winery with a low environmental impact. The company then decided to produce a third Brunello di Montalcino, named Pieve San Restituta, which is the result of a blend of the other crus.
