How it's made The extra virgin olive oil from Planeta is made with a variety of local olives of the Sicilian territory such as: Cerasuola, Nocellare del Balice, Biancolilla. The Planeta olive groove is located in Capparina, surrounded by a beautiful haven of nature, always in the respect of the environment. The picking of the olives takes place at the beginning of October, precisely 15 days before the usual time, in order to guarantee and preserve all the organoleptic properties of the olives. The oil, picked by hand, as tradition insists, are put in well-aired boxes and they are then brought to the mill. The production of the olive oil is carried out through modern machines, guaranteeing a high-quality and fine olive oil. The olives are filtered from impurities, pressed, unpitted and then stirred, without ruining its flavour.
