TASTING NOTES: The colour of Aldo Clerico Barolo 2011 is weak red with garnet nuances. On the nose it shows flowery notes with violets and fruity notes and cherry. On the mouth it is complex and elegant, tannins are just the perfect amount and it will get softer with the age. The drop is satisfying and with an incredible long finish.

Aldo Clerico Barolo is made with only Nebbiolo grapes which are hand-harvested around the first half of October when the phenolic ripeness is at its perfect level. The Nebbiolo grapes are then brought to the cellar, de-stemmed and laid in temperature controlled steel tanks for the alcoholic fermentation. This process lasts for 20-25 days when the wine macerates in the skins which spread the aromas and polyphenols enriching the product. Afterwards the wine is put apart from the skins and moved into oak barrels for a 24-month ageing. After the 2 years spent in oak barrels, the wine is bottled and ages for 12 months and then is finally ready to be released.

Il vigneto in questione ha una esposizione a sud quindi è illuminato dal sole tutto il giorno l'altitudine è di 400m sldm. La pratica agronomica che viene svolta dopo l'invaiatura è il diradamento che permette quasi sempre un anticipo di maturazione e grazie al quale si arriva ad avere una resa di uva per Ha di vigneto pari a 65q. La forma di allevamento utilizzata in questo vigneto è la controspalliera con potatura a guyot e la densità di impianto è di 4000 piante/Ha " |
