Vecchio Amaro del Capo is the most famous product of the ancient Caffo distillery that produces this bitter using a blend of officinal herbs, flowers, fruits and roots grown in Calabria. These are macerated for established times in alcohol before sugar is added. The criterion by which the herbs that make up Vecchio Amaro del Capo have been selected is undoubtedly the digestive ability, in fact bitter orange, sweet orange, licorice, mandarin, camomile and juniper are herbs with a marked digestive power. In 2010 the Vecchio Amaro del Capo was the only Italian bitter awarded with the gold medal at the world competition in Brussels.
